Qigong: Develop more Body Awareness Through Weight Shifting
Instructor Lynnie Kustal focuses on weight shifting, a fundamental element of Qigong. Weight shifting helps develop ones awareness in the lower extremities and feet. This increases body awareness, concentration and balance which allows for slower, more mindful movement.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a mind and body practice that improves one’s mental and physical health. It integrates posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. It is a gentle form of exercise that reinforces movement awareness and neurological connections to movement.
Lynnie Kustal has a long career in meditative exercise. She is a sought-after instructor, having taught yoga at UC Santa Barbara, The Oaks Spa at Ojai, and the Ojai Valley Athletic Club. She received her Yoga certification from the White Lotus Foundation, and is also trained in Qigong and Tai Chi. The focus of her teaching is to promote a feeling of well-being and to awaken in each person a sense of joy through movement.
