One of Your Answers Should Be Reviewed By a Doctor

Before you begin the FIX YOUR BACK Workshop, we would like you to first visit your doctor or physical therapist.

The symptoms you describe—significant weakness in your legs, incontinence, or numbness in the groin area—can be red flags indicating a more serious condition, such as cauda equina syndrome. This condition involves nerve compression and requires immediate treatment to prevent permanent damage.

Low back pain is something that many people experience, but sometimes it can signal a medical emergency. Symptoms like bowel or bladder dysfunction, or numbness in the saddle area (the part of your body that would touch a saddle if you were riding a horse), can suggest that something more severe is going on with your spine.

Please contact your doctor or go to the emergency department as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis. Make sure to be very specific about the details of your symptoms when speaking with your healthcare provider, as this will help them make a clear diagnosis and provide the right care.

Once you are cleared from any other possible conditions, you can return to this workshop and confidently progress with our steps to improve your back.
