Fitness Elements
Fitness Elements is a standing class designed to build balance, muscle tone, and cardiovascular health. Includes physical therapist identified exercises to improve overall quality of movement. When done consistently, this thoughtful combination of exercises can reduce the impact of significant health risks. Instructor covers the four key components of Fitness Elements: Balance, Strength, Endurance and Flexibility.
Movement Improvement
Maintaining a lifetime of good movement takes awareness, practice, and learning some new skills. Based on the Feldenkrais Method, this series of specialized classes includes balance, flexibility, and directed attention exercises.
Gentle Core Strength
Gentle Core Strength incorporates elements of Pilates and Yoga to improve core muscle stability. By learning to control this muscle group, you will find improved overall performance and stability in everyday tasks. These muscles are also an essential part of maintaining good balance, improving posture, and correct body alignment.
Posture and Balance
Practicing posture and balance exercises greatly improves our daily movement confidence. This specialty class is designed to deliver significant improvements specific to a common aging challenge. Join us in this powerful anti-aging class.
Chair Fitness
For individuals with mobility issues, using the floor for exercise can present challenges. Our chair fitness class provides an effective workout that doesn’t require you to roll around on the floor. By adopting a creative approach to exercise, participants can overcome mobility limitations and continue building their strength and flexibility.
Therapeutic Yoga
Join us for an all-levels class that brings the physical and mental benefits of yoga to Balance. Yoga’s purpose is to create strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. Our yoga class will engage core muscle groups, enhance joint flexibility, improve muscle tone, and provide an opportunity for deep relaxation through mindful breath and movement.
Qigong: An Eastern Movement Practice
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a mind and body practice that improves one’s mental and physical health. It integrates posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. It is a gentle form of exercise that reinforces movement awareness and neurological connections to movement.
Neuro Boxing
Neuro boxing is an empowering, supportive fitness class for Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions. Developed from research demonstrating the ways in which patients with Parkinson’s Disease have enhanced their quality of life through specific movement training. In addition to rebuilding cognitive functions, you will gain strength, flexibility, balance and speed.
PWR Moves
PWR Moves is a series of exercises specifically designed for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and other and neurological conditions. These neuroplasticity-principled approaches are shown by research to reduce symptoms, restore function, and slow disease progression.
